AES’s electric utilities deliver dependable, affordable electricity to approximately 11 million customers across widely different markets. In Cameroon, we are the source of electricity for the entire country, from the capital city of Yaounde to rural outposts just now getting power for the first time. In El Salvador, AES’s four distribution companies together serve more than 80% of the country’s electric power market, keeping homes and streets lit and the wheels of commerce turning. In emerging markets like Ukraine we continue to enhance the network, improve reliability and revolutionize customer service.

Our 14 distribution companies include: AES Eletropaulo in Sao Paulo, Brazil, the largest distribution company in Latin America serving over five million customers, and Indianapolis Power & Light Company (IPL), which serves 470,000 customers in Indianapolis and the surrounding areas.  AES Eletropaulo has a history that stretches back over 100 years of service.  IPL has become one of the most reliable electric utilities in the US, and one of the most highly rated in customer satisfaction.
